1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ShowMyXpense ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

ShowMyXpense is a privacy-first personal expense intelligence application that allows you to import financial transactions from bank statements, categorize expenses, set budgets, generate reports, and gain insights into your spending. The Service includes AI-powered transaction extraction and currency conversion features.

3. Account Registration

• You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and confidential.
• You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any law.
• Share your account credentials with others.
• Attempt to access, tamper with, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on others' rights.
• Use the Service in a way that could damage or impair its functionality.

5. User Content & Data

You retain ownership of all data you enter or import into ShowMyXpense. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of your data. You may export or delete your data at any time from the Data & Privacy page.

6. AI Processing & Disclaimers

The Service uses AI to extract transactions from uploaded documents and to fetch exchange rates. AI-generated results may not always be perfectly accurate. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying extracted data before relying on it. We are not liable for errors in AI-extracted or AI-processed information.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Anthropic (AI processing), Google (exchange rate data), Stripe (subscription payment processing), and the Base44 platform (hosting and infrastructure). We are not responsible for the actions, availability, or policies of these third parties. Your use of the Service is also subject to their applicable terms and policies.

8. Subscriptions and Payments

ShowMyXpense offers paid subscription plans (Starter and Pro) billed on a monthly or annual basis. All subscription payments are processed by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card numbers, CVV, or complete payment details — Stripe handles all payment information securely.

Every new account includes a 14-day free Pro trial. No credit card is required to start the trial. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Billing & Plan page or via the Stripe Customer Portal. Canceling does not delete your existing data — you retain read-only access to your transactions, budgets, and reports.

Prices are shown in USD. We may change our pricing with reasonable notice. Any price changes will not affect your current billing period. If you exceed the limits of your plan (for example, when downgrading from Pro to Starter), we will not delete your excess data — we will simply prevent new creation beyond your plan's allowance until you upgrade again.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Any financial decisions you make based on the Service's data or reports are your sole responsibility.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShowMyXpense and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid for the Service in the preceding twelve months.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate jurisdiction.
